Bagels and Lox

Dear Atticus and Nora,
Papa has been wanting to try bagels with lox and cream cheese for a long time.  The other day I indulged him and bought it.  Meh, it was okay.  The two who liked it the most were my picky eaters.

Atticus and Nora chowed down on it.  I was shocked.  There's hope for you two after all.

4th of July

Dear Children,

For the fourth of July we invited the Ramos' and the Owens' to a little cook-out and fireworks at the church pavilion.  We thought since it was so close to evening it would cool down enough to enjoy being outside.  We were roasting out there, but we still had fun.

From the pictures it would appear that we're not the most responsible adults.  Barefeet, torches, untied shoe laces while running from lit fireworks... the pictures don't lie.

We had hamburgers, salad, chips, Root Beer, roasted corn and S'mores for dinner.  Yum!

Dear love,
I adore when you cook for us.  You are a way better chef than I am.  You hardly ever follow a recipe and you can whip out a meal like it's no big deal.  This meal, however, made me laugh.  We were going on a date and while I was getting ready you said you would make the kids dinner.

Bon apetit!  Breaded chicken with a slice of provolone, spaghetti sauce and a hot dog topper.  Wow, so not up my alley, but the kids devoured them.  Seriously, way to hit a home run.
